OLEV GRANT: What does this mean for you?
When it comes to home charging the OLEV grant refers to a government grant for electric car home charging stations. This grant is provided by the Office For Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).
The OLEV grant is also known as the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and it can help you get £500.00 off the cost of buying and also installing a home charging station for your electric vehicle.
The grant is available for most electric cars and also for plug in hybrid cars.
The grant allows you to claim for one charge point for each eligible vehicle and up to two eligible vehicles per household.
How do you qualify for the OLEV Grant?
To qualify for the OLEV grant:
- You must have bought an eligible electric or plug in hybrid vehicle from the 1st October 2016 onwards.
- You must also have off street parking
- You must install a charge point that has been approved by OLEV.
- The date of installation needs to be less than 4 months ahead of the date of the delivery or the date the customer becomes the registered driver of the electric vehicle.
- You must only use a charge point that has been approved by OLEV.
What vehicles are eligible for the OLEV Grant?
It’s important to know that not all plug in vehicles are eligible for the OLEV EVHS grant. All full battery electric vehicles are eligible. However, plug in hybrid vehicle CO2 emissions must be less than 75g/km.
How do you claim for the OLEV Grant?
You can claim for the OLEV grant, which enables you to take £500.00 off the cost of your home charging station by answering just a few simple questions and by sharing some documents with us when you first order your home charging station.
